Stars worked the red, err, blue carpet Sunday night for the 2013 Billboard Music Awards show in Las Vegas.
We spotted some of summer’s hottest trends: Neon, a white bodycon dress, sultry cut-outs … and that was all just on Selena Gomez’s award show ensemble.
We picked a few of our favorite looks from the awards show, and toned them down a little bit so that you can wear them for a summer’s night out and buy them at price that is more tailored to your budget.
Inspired by Selena Gomez: Or, as Tracy Morgan accidentally called her: “Celine.” The 20-year-old on-again, off-again girlfriend of Justin Bieber performed in a Bollywood-inspired gold gown with jewels on her head. But, the trend that caught our attention is the one she started the night in, a futuristic, body-hugging white dress with neon and gold accents. Find a white bodycon dress with side cut-outs from Bebe for just $69 and stacked neon macrame Vince Camuto bracelets from Nordstrom for $28 a piece.
Inspired by Taylor Swift: Before she changed into high-waisted black shorts and a, um, unicorn T-shirt to perform her single 22, T-Swift dazzled the blue carpet in a sparkly cobalt Zuhair Murad dress with Jimmy Choo shoes. We found a one-shoulder blue sequined dress from Dillards for just $99 and Tahari black, strappy pumps at DSW knocked down to $69.95. Swift was the night’s big winner, taking home Swift won eight awards. Her big wins: Top artist of the year and Red garnered her top Billboard 200 album.
Inspired by Hayden Panettiere: The Nashville star kept it classy in a Halston Heritage black halter dress with a ruffled bodice with her sandy blonde hair in sideswept, Hollywood-glam curls. She also carried a Jimmy Choo gold clutch. We drew elegant inspiration from White House Black Market and found a $300 strapless chiffon plumed gown in black and a gold Jessica McClintock clutch from Nordstrom.
