Traveling for Spring Break can present some unique technological challenges. Everything from fun in the sun to hitting the ski slopes, and everything in between, can require some useful gadgets to help you get the most out of your vacation. Finding items you can use on your trip can be a challenge, but shopping around for exactly what you need can help keep the costs down.

Electronic gizmos and more

Though you might find yourself on the beach or out and about for most of your Spring Break, there’s still the travel time. Whether you’re in a car or on a plane, you’ll want to keep busy – tablet computers, for example, are a handy way to kill time while you’re stuck in a chair.

The handy thing about tablets is, they’re available just about anywhere. Best Buy and Amazon offer just about any tablet you can think of, with the former offering 2 percent cash back. Apple itself will give you 1 percent cash back on your tablets, and you can find a number of Android and iOS alternatives at Target (2 percent cash back), Walmart (2 percent) and Staples (4 percent).

Capturing memories, finding your way

You’ll also undoubtedly want gadgets that can help you immortalize your trip. Having a handy camera for capturing stills or video can be really useful for making memories out of your trip, for example. Among the sites mentioned above, others such as Radio Shack (3 percent cash back) and Sears (5 percent) are viable alternatives for shopping. You might also do well to hit up your favorite electronics retailers for a portable battery charger that you can carry with you, in order to make sure you’re never out of contact in a strange place.

Safety can be a big concern on trips, so smartphones equipped with GPS or standalone GPS devices are also extremely useful. Shop around your favorite electronics retailers and you’re likely to find solid deals on whatever you might need to get the most out of Spring Break, from power adapters to smartphones. With so many electronics retailers, you’re bound to find a good deal eventually.
