I was on eHarmony for a very short time, but after 3 dates I met a man I'm still with 7 months later. I found their personality matching to be accurate and the pre-open conversation questions really give you insight as to how they'd behave and treat you in every day life. The questions also give you the ability to ask questions you really want to know, but might be too embarrassed to ask initially. I'd recommend to go with at least the 3 month plan, but the 6 month plan is the best value. eHarmony locks you in, makes you sign up for one of those 'automatic renewal' things hoping you'll forget to cancel your subscription on the last day. And you HAVE to cancel it on the last day, because if you do it ahead of time, you can't access your potential dates! Plus they set me up with my so celled 'matches' who were all hundreds of miles away. Not ONE was a good match, even after spending 50 mintues filling out their 'patented personality profile for deep, meaningful connections'. Thanks for nothing, Dr. Warren.
Actually that's not true. I used the site and you can cancel at any time and will receive matches and able to communicate up until your subscription expires. And you can select distance under your settings and have the option to select how important this is to you on a scale from not - somewhat - very. If you don't select "very" you could get matches further away depending on the number compatible people in your are.
I have set the distance and still get matches from all over the U.S. I, too, had the same experience about cancelling before the last day of expiration and not receiving matches or being able to communicate. I also found that while I was an active member, I did not receive many matches BUT when that subscription expired, I would be contacted by eHarmony that I had a match---at least 2 a day. Funny how all of a sudden I began to have matches. I don't think eHarmony is for me.
