Dollar Rental is my first choice for renting cars. Being a Dollar Express member expedites my rentals quickly. With this membership, upgrades are usually given as well. I would highly recommend renting cars from Dollar Rental.

Quick Rental

We rented a car at Seatac... though the ride to the lot was a trek; they take you. You have to 'hail' the minibus to get to the cars. Very quick in and out within 30 minutes.

Las Vegas Rental

I rented an economy vehicle and was given a Dodge Calibur.  This was a very nice car, 4 door, was roomy and easy to drive.  I had this car for one week.  the only drawback was the price of the car rental was good but then, they wanted $22.00 per day if you wanted or needed extra insurance. That was a drawback.

No credit card required at rental pick up.  I like Dollar because you can sign up online for the EXPRESS program and not even show any id or credit card on pick up or drop off.  They have your car ready for you when you arive with no paper work to sign.  This place takes debit cards and does not have a problem with them.

Ok, but not great

Rented out of Seattle Airport - After waiting at the counter for 15 mins (issue with the cc of the person in front of me), I went online in the baggage claim area, and booked the car there. This way, I could go right to shuttle to go pick up the car.  Shuttle driver was pleasant; short trip to off-site facility.  Because I had just made the reservation, the clerk was not able to find my reserv in her system, so she had to call main reserv. line. They found it quickly that way, but when she handed me the printout to sign, the rate was incorrect. I told her it was wrong (I had used an online coupon). She politely argued with me, that -that is what they had been told on the phone. I said I would sign it (because I wanted my car), but I wrote a note next to the price that I disagreed with the charge (she also told me that me doing that was irrelevant, I just wanted documentation of the dispute). While this was going on, another girl called the main reserv. line again to check on the price. Surprise, surprise... they said I was right - the first guy had not told them about the coupon. So both girls apologized, and quickly got a new printout for me to sign. I did not get the "featured" car that is advertised on the website for the level that I purchased, which was somewhat disappointing. Many times I choose a particular level to be able to "try out" a certain type of car... but not too big of a deal. I wasn't impressed with the fact that the entire floor of the INDOOR car garage was covered in pools of standing water. I'm guessing from the on-site car wash. I tiptoed through the mess and had to make several trips from the lobby to the car, so I wouldn't have to set my belongings on the wet floor. (Note: I was doing all of this with an 18-month old, car seat, suitcase, and backpack.) Out on the road... car was ok, but not really meant for driving in Washington area. The material of the road surface made driving feel "slick" in this car, and the noise of the tires driving over the surface was very loud inside the car....Initially the car looked clean inside, but when I was making my own run thru before returning- cleaning up my stuff, I found trash underneath both front seats. Beside a couple wrappers, there was a energy drink bottle and disposable coffee cup! That surpirised me, so I cleaned that up too, so that they couldn't blame me for it. Returning the car was very quick- almost too quick. Two men jumped on me as soon as I arrived, trying to take the keys/car. I was trying to get all of my belongings out of the trunk, while my child was still inside, and this guy was grabbing the keys and getting in to look at spedometer, inside, etc. I had to finally (bluntly) say, "Give me a minute, please". Then they backed off.  Overall, I'd say 3 stars only because of the price- they were much lower than most other companies, but this particular location needs to work on its customer service.
